  • TECHNICAL MANAGER

    Responsibilities:

    1. Support Head of Engineering in training and developing the engineers on technical matters, including handling and operating all broadcast equipment.

    2. Assist with engineering technical tasks to ensure smooth running of daily engineering operations.

    3. Establish an SOP for Site Survey and prepare Production and Technical Integration Layout Plan. To review and make relevant updates as required for process improvement.

    4. Implement design and make permanent layout for racks along with serial numbers and standard placing of panels.

    5. Support Head of Engineering to improve and test system designs.

    6. Support process of racks and kit standardization.

    7. Collaborate with Head of Engineering to establish a process for equipment testing and preparation. To review and make relevant updates on a yearly basis for process improvement.

    8. Ensure a process is in place for communication/escalation of technical

    problems on all projects.

    9. Research technical development standards for present and new

    technologies. Provide technical support of the company's service to clients

    10.Design the project template to cover the tasks needed for each project

    11.Keep the project task updated for each project on hand.

     

    Before Project

    12.Review technical specifications of equipment and crew for quotation

    prepared by Sales Department.

    13.Participate in client/contractor meetings and site recce when required.

    14.Address clients’ technical queries prior to the project.

    15.Expand list of equipment from quotation to a detailed list (to include all equipment needed).

    16.Prepare Engineering book to include technical information regarding

    Router/Switcher I/O, Distribution assignments, cabin/room layouts etc.

    17.Create a timeline for project preparation and set the targets. Adjust based on any changes subjected to availability of engineers at the base, shipping schedules, deliverables or scope of the projects.

    18.Communicate with Equipment Planner, Warehouse and Engineering

    Department to monitor the project and ensure it is on the right track.

    19.Check the equipment packing list and ensure that it matches the expanded list.

    20.Sign off and approve the Packing List to be used for a project.

    21.Prepare Production and Technical Integration Layout for each project with relevant technical information and ensure relevant parties receive it before project.

    During Project

    22. Be part of the Support Team during project by monitoring the support email and respond to communications received.

     

    After Project

    23. Conduct post-project evaluation on technical performance and issues

    encountered and suggest possible improvements for the next project.

    Requirements:

    1. Degree qualified in Electrical / Communication / Broadcast Engineering or similar related field.

    2. 10+ years of relevant work experience.

    3. An expert in equipment and products used in broadcasting; for example, audio and vision mixers, radio communication products, cameras, and camera lens

    4. Experienced in technical training for knowledge transfer

    5. Ability to think critically and provide multiple viable solutions to problems

    6. Able to carry out physical tasks due to the nature of job

    7. Able to travel overseas for regional and international projects
