  • Responsibilities

    • Responsible for assigned vessels' overall technical operations.
    • Ensure vessels are technically compliance to International Maritime rules and regulations, legislations, oil major requirements.
    • Provide technical advice and support to the shipboard team.
    • Monitor vessels’ defects and ensure rectifications are carried out timely and effectively.
    • Promote safe operations culture onboard vessels.
    • Prepare and manage vessels’ dry docking and repair works in accordance with company’s policy and requirements.
    • Conduct investigations on incidents and implementation of corrective action and recommendations to prevent recurrence.
    • Conduct vessel inspection, internal audit etc as per Company requirement.
    • Responsible for procurement of vessels’ spares and consumables and ensure timely delivery to vessels.
    • Maintain and update validity of statutory certificates, vessels’ drawings and instructions manuals.
    • Monitor vessels’ planned routine maintenance through Planned Maintenance System and manage vessels’ spares inventory for vessels’ safe and efficient operation.
    • Assist to evaluate performance of the shipboard team and interview of potential shipboard officers.
    • Supervise construction of new built vessels as per agreed design and specifications.

     

    Requirements

    • Degree in Maritime Studies, Engineering, or its equivalent
    • Marine Engineer with Certificate of Competency (COC) Class 1.
    • At least 3 to 5 years of relevant working experience preferably as Technical Superintendent in a shipping company / ship management company dealing with LPG/ Oil Tanker
    • Must have onboard sea sailing experience
    • Well versed in International Maritime rules and regulations, legislations and oil major requirements.
    • Analytical and highly proactive in technical trouble shooting and problem solving.
    • Team player, self-motivated and able to work independently with minimum supervision.
