Responsibilities

As a Local General Counsel of a MNC, he/she will manage and coordinate legal affairs as well as compliance activities of the Company in Singapore in accordance with the Company’s Legal policies and in line with the commercial objectives and interests of the Company. Details as follows:-

• Report to the management board of the Company
• Report to HQ Legal
• HQ Legal support tasks as may be requested
• Compliance Risk management including educating employees regarding competition, privacy and other compliance issues.
• Provide proactive internal legal services, including transactional support and negotiation covering all legal areas relevant to the Company’s business
• Ensure full compliance with HQ Legal policies and regulations
• Act as liaison between Legal Team and other employees, operating departments and bodies
• Full contract management (drafting, revision, negotiation, and providing advice)
• Full dispute management (claim, litigations, arbitration, administrative, appeals, reporting to HQ Legal)
• Accurate and timely management of all Contingent Liabilities
• Outside counsel management and evaluation
• Use of the intra-company Legal Service System
• Onsite work; must be willing and able to travel
• Prepare work plans and coordinate scheduling and timely completion of work for all legal support personnel
• Draft training materials and provide (onsite) training
• Participate in or follow trainings or conferences as may be requested

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Law from a recognized University
• At least 3 years of experience as a Legal Advisor or Legal Counsel in a public agency or reputable law firm or global corporate legal department in the consumer electronics industry heading a Legal Department
• Excellent and professional communication skills in English (both oral and written)
• Must be internationally and culturally minded
• Good knowledge of MS Office applications
• A positive can-do attitude with integrity
• Accurate, reliant and professional
• Service-oriented and a helpful individual
