  • Responsibilities

    Reporting to the Finance Manager, this person will be responsible for Financial Reporting, Compliance and Internal Controls, Risk Management. Details as follows:-


    General Accounting

    • Perform Venue related and other external parties’ billings
    • Prepare bank reconciliations, treasury related journals on monthly basis
    • Handle donation transactional activities, book-keeping and financial reporting in accordance with the Charity Act, IPC and FRS rules
    • Prepare grants, donations, restricted fund and other assigned monthly schedules


    Fixed Asset and CAPEX Budget

    • Responsible for fixed assets management, including handling of fixed asset transactions – additions, disposals, transfers and write-offs
    • Prepare and monitor CAPEX budget and track items purchased using grants
    • Coordinate annual physical inventory exercise and prepare related fixed asset reports
    • Goods receipt handling in SAP system


    Grants, Donation and Fundraising (including TEF)

    • Ensure compliance of grant utilization, donations and fundraising received with stipulated guidelines and monies are used per guidelines and intention
    • Liaise with government, and other funding organization on various reporting requirements


    Accounting Projects, Papers and Policies

    • Establish clear guidelines and standard operating procedures for proper accounting
    • Make improvements to current systems and processes to ensure good system and process workflow
    • Hands-on role in formulating, reviewing and implementing financial policies, procedures, internal controls and systems to support the execution of the school’s strategic operations


    Sub-Comm Minutes Recorder

    • Record minutes for Finance Comm, Audit Comm and other Sub-Comm as assigned by Senior Management



    • Perform ad hoc assignments for Management’s decision making


    Professional Growth

    • To keep abreast and apply knowledge of accounting standards, Charity Act, IPC, Tax regulations and grants related issues
    • To continue professional growth through attending accounting, donations, capital expenditure related seminars/courses



    • Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy/Finance or its equivalent
    • Min 1 year of relevant experience preferably with audit background
    • Adequate knowledge of accounting issues in education industry and charity organization
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel & Word)
    • Experience in SAP an added advantageous
    • Meticulous and consistently accurate in work performance
    • Strong awareness of risk and controls
    • Able to meet tight deadlines and multi-task


    Working Hours – 8.30 am to 6.00 pm (Monday to Friday)
