  • Responsibilities

     

    Responsible for providing support to the Global Consolidations group by applying IFRS in Hong Kong and generally accepted accounting principles in China and procedures to analyze financial information. To prepare accurate and timely financial reports and statements (both English & Chinese), and ensure appropriate internal control procedures. This position will be expected to exhibit the highest professional standards, ethical principles, and attention to detail while working on numerous routine and ad hoc accounting support functions. Details as follows:-

    • To coordinate monthly consolidation process, including interacting with local accountants of our international subsidiaries to ensure timely and accurate reporting
    • To review reports received from local accountants, reconcile inter-company transactions and investment in subsidiary activities
    • To record foreign currency transactions and consolidation of foreign entities
    • To prepare account reconciliations and independently research exceptions
    • To be responsible for month-end close procedures for assigned subsidiaries, including preparation of monthly elimination journal entries, account reconciliations and analysis of results
    • To assist in reviewing material fluxes in monthly financial line items at month-end
    • To provide certain reporting/analysis to company management on a monthly basis regarding costs incurred
    • To coordinate and prepare year-end financial reports and footnotes
    • To assist & coordinate year-end audit
    • To assist & coordinate GL team's involvement in system testing efforts for new system implementations, regular system patches and upgrades
    • To assist in the development and maintenance of GL process/training guides
    • To perform global inter-company reconciliations
    • To assist in the preparation of the corporate cash flow statement
    • To proactively identify issues and implement process improvements to streamline accounting processes.
    • To perform analytical review of foreign entity financial statements on a monthly basis
    • To assist in establishing and maintaining policies and procedures
    • To perform other special projects and analyses as directed by management
    • To follow Company policies and practices while representing the Company in an ethical and business-like manner in all interactions with employees, governmental agencies, growers, customers, etc.
    • To ensure that the security of the Company’s confidential and proprietary information and materials
    • Other ad hoc duties as assigned by the Management

        
    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Accountancy/Finance/ACCA with CPA/CPA Eligible a plus
    • At least 5 years of progressive finance and accounting experience
    • Good experience in financial reporting & group accounting consolidation
    • Must be strong in accounting background to support intercompany reports, foreign currency translation/re-measurement and general accounting responsibilities.
    • Familiar with Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (FRSs)
    • International Accounting experience with strong understanding of IFRS in Hong Kong and CHINA GAAP principles
    • Able to prepare financial report/group consolidation for submission to Hong Kong office (in English) & HQ in China (in Chinese)
    • Experience with intercompany and group consolidations strongly preferred
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
    • Ability to meet stringent deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment
    • Demonstrated ability to map transaction flow processes to implement process improvements, coupled with experience in continuous improvement essential· 
    • A combination of Public and Corporate Accounting experience preferred
    • Proven track record of strong project management skills a plus
    • Strong work ethic, capacity to get things done independently, and consistent performance with a sense of urgency and commitment
    • Advanced Excel skills and use of automated accounting systems required
    • Overseas traveling is required (15% to 25%)
    • Ability to travel internationally without restrictions
